MINUTES
Meeting in the Rufford Village Hall
Monday 17th February, 2003
Present.
Cllrs
Gordon, Lee, Rimmer, Cummings, plus seven members of the
public.
Apologies.
Cllr Grace, Ashcroft, Colling.
Due to the absence through sickness of the chairman Cllr
Grace, Cllr Gordon took the
chair.
Minutes
of the last meeting.
Prop. Cllr Rimmer.
Sec. Cllr Cummings.
'That the minutes be verified as a correct record and

Matters
arising from minutes.
Fayre Game Site.
Goods yard Church Rd. Sluice Lane.
No further reply yet received from WLDC, even after a
further letter and three telephone requests for the matter
to be given urgent attention.
The matter now passed to our District Cllr Colling for
further action.
Cavalier
Caravan Club.
After this years successful hiring of the village hall
(at the new year) the same club wish to book the venue
for the next New Year. The Village Hall Cttee. have submitted
the request to the Parish Council whom unanimously voted
in its favour. Village Hall Ctte to write confirming the
booking with the caravan club.
Chapel
Lane. Holmeswood. Flooding. B5246. Holmeswood. Pot holes
in road. Holly Lane.
Rufford.
Road resurfacing - LCC in process of carrying out work
although resurfacing of Holly Lane will be in the following
years budget.
Community
Futures.
Meeting held on the 6th February 03, leaflet drop now
being carried out in the village. Next meeting arranged
for the 6th March 03.
Finance
report.
Bid for funding re wall repairs has been submitted.
Green issue fund WLDC for £750. has been agreed
(rec. ground improvements)
This is part of the £16.000. scheme £3000
of which will be supplied by the Parish Council.
Work on this to start in March of this year.
Complaints of people burning rubbish in the grounds. To
be stopped as soon as possible after this work starts.

That a donation of £150. be made to the "Air
Ambulance". In the new financial year.
Community
Warden Scheme, Due to this scheme having collapsed the
£1600. allocated by the Parish Council will go to
other work being carried out.
A59.Rufford.
Information received indicates that LCC are considering
changes to the speed limit
proposed. County Cllr Rbt Hodge and members of the Parish
Council met to discuss this matter and Cllr Hodge to now
take the matter up with the County Council.
Scouts.
Two requests were received from the above organisation.
One for use of the recreation ground On the 21st June
for a Cyclo-Cross and on the 2nd
November for a Bonfire display. The Parish Council agrees
to both.
Second item was for financial assistance in resurfacing
the car park and repairs to the central heating system.
This matter passed to the Finance Cttee. for their consideration.
Village
Halls.
Letters were received from the committees of both halls
thanking the Parish Council for it's financial support.
Passageway. The Paddock -A59.
WLDC to be again asked to consider the closing of this
passageway due to vandalism etc.
Footpaths
6 & 11. Plans etc were shown to the council showing
that the LCC had stated that the - paths run on the south
side of the sluice. 23. Now opened.
