Meeting in the Rufford Village Hall
Monday 21st July, 2003.

Present. Cllrs Grace. Gordon. Lee. Colling. Cummings, Rimmer
plus 15 members of The public.

That the minutes be verified as a correct record and signed.

Matters arising.
Fayre Game. Sluice Ln. Goods Yard. Etc
Letter received from WLDC over these sites.
Enforcement Officers now looking into the problems regarding same.

Sluice.
Work to commence in September.

Footpath No 22
To be inspected shortly and any work required will follow.

Parish Plan
H' wood. Meeting recently held at Holmeswood plans now being formed to include the village in the overall plan.

Mrs Riley reported that no progress had been made over the problems with speeding etc. Several suggestions were made, Pelican crossing near the school; Speed checks, Rumble strips, 20 MPH speed limit.

A59
Letter received from L.C.C. stating that the new speed limit should come into effect on the 15th August 03.

Finance.
Myerscough College have not yet been able to carry out an inspection of the trees on the recreation ground.
Drainage. Recreation ground.
Contractors have now given an estimate for £1268 to carry out further inspection
work in relation to this problem. Parish Council approved for work to be carried out.
Play Group.
An application for a further grant towards the new play area as been submitted.
H'wood Sports Assoc.
Progress still being made on the project for floodlighting the tennis courts.

The clerk to write to the WLDC asking for the following problems relating to the site be cleared up.
The road in several places is deteriorating.
All properties have now been built.
No street lighting except for the first 100 metres.
Numerous cars are parked in the road (not belonging to local residents.
The direct path through to the A59 causes problems due to rubbish etc being left there
. in the dark, plus noise from young people...
"TheFlash".
Hole in road between "The Hermitage" & "Flash House"
Sluice Lane.
The gulleys each side of the bridge need attention.
Moss End Comer
LCC to be informed over a "House for sale" notice placed in the grass verge, near to the chevron at this junction.
